Upcott Farm, Croyde and Lee bay - Devon

A weekend spent in North Devon with Isabella and her family. I found the trip really inspiring and managed to do a bit of sketching which I will share later on. I loved Croyde beach with its sand dunes - the weather was lovely...perfect blue skies
Lee bay was one of the most unusual beaches I've been to. It was surrounded by high hills and forests and was very 'twilight' with it's grey cliffs and crevices. The beach had a particular colour scheme throughout, iron grey rocks with a turquoise green markings. A bit like the colour of oxidised copper. Then there was the reddish purple sea weed and the bright moss green plants dotted around and in between the rocks were the palest grey flat stones forming lines and spirals, back to back against each other which eventually must form the large rocks.

Teacup sketches

When it comes to a beautiful object sometimes I prefer to look at the original drawings/plans and sketches more than the finished piece itself.  I found these sketches on the V&A website.  They are 18th century drawings and designs by H & R designs who produced crockery in England.  I love the way you can see their thought process of how the design would look from different angles of the teacups.

Currently...loving Etro

Adore these prints designed by Etro.  Bold clashing gypset prints, paisley, geometrical and florals on silk and jersey culottes, kimonos and maxis. Wish I had designed them myself!

I also love these...

Bigger and Brighter: Perigee full moon

This weekend the moon appeared bigger and brighter, as it was closer to the Earth.  Countries with clear skies were lucky enough to see a beautiful dramatic full moon.  These pictures which I love were taken from this article
